“Yesterday, Today”
photos by Dado SaturayMany “photogs” hate them, but I’ve always liked timestamps. Not the shitty looking kind they got for digital cameras, but the old school film kind. The red-orange-yellowish, semi-transparent seven-segment display of tiny numbers found in the bottom right of almost every Filipino photo taken in the 1980s.
Those timestamps are all over Uncle Dado’s slides. I was looking through some scans when I noticed this roll of film was shot at an anti-Marcos rally in the Philippines exactly 27 years ago today. If anything, timestamps remind us that every day is the anniversary of something we once thought important enough to remember.
